Ablution, known as <em data-start="81" data-end="87">Wudu in Islam, is a spiritual act of purification performed before prayers and certain acts of worship. It symbolizes cleanliness of both body and soul. The process begins with the intention (<em data-start="275" data-end="283">niyyah) to purify oneself for the sake of Allah. Then, one starts by washing the hands up to the wrists three times, followed by rinsing the mouth and nose. The face is washed thoroughly three times, and then each arm up to the elbows. Next, a wet hand is passed over the head and ears once.
Finally, the feet are washed up to the ankles three times. Performing ablution correctly not only fulfills a religious obligation but also promotes hygiene and mindfulness. Completing Wudu with the <em data-start="767" data-end="772">dua (supplication) brings spiritual peace and prepares a Muslim to stand before Allah in prayer with purity and devotion.
