Is Hustle Culture Quietly Pushing Us Toward Academic Shortcuts? (14 อ่าน)

19 ก.พ. 2569 02:16

Im a junior at a state school in Ohio, and I keep noticing how normal its become to outsource assignments. Between internships, part-time jobs, and trying to build a resume that could impress someone like Elon Musk, the pressure feels constant. A professor mentioned that nearly 60% of students admit to some form of academic dishonesty. Im not judging, Im honestly wondering: when survival mode kicks in, where do we draw the line between coping and cheating?

Im a senior in Chicago, and Ive been in that survival mode. During my sophomore year, when my mom lost her job, I worked nights and barely slept. I remember staring at my laptop at 3 a.m., seriously considering sites that say pay for programming assignment or messaging an essay help writer. I even typed Write My Paper into Google once. I didnt go through with it, not because I felt morally superior, but because I realized I was about to hand over more than money. I wouldve been giving up the chance to struggle through and actually learn. That semester I got a C in economics. It bruised my ego. But two years later, I can still explain supply and demand without faking it. The pressure is real, and I dont blame anyone for feeling cornered. Still, every shortcut has a cost that doesnt show up on your transcript.
