Finally understanding why my packaging has been holding me back (3 อ่าน)

I've been running my business in Ajman for a few years now and I've always thought of packaging as just a necessary cost, not something that could actually help or hurt my growth. But lately I've been looking at how much time my team spends on manual tasks and I started wondering if there's a reason why we seem to be stuck at the same volume even though we've added more staff. I had a conversation with someone at a networking event who mentioned that their operation really took off once they standardized their packaging and added some basic automation, and it got me curious. I decided to check this guide that they recommended, and honestly it was like someone turned on a light. The article explained how inconsistent packaging makes it nearly impossible to automate anything, which means you're stuck doing everything manually forever. I realized I've been using a dozen different box sizes and materials, and every time we pack an order it's like solving a puzzle. No wonder we can't scale up. I'm planning to spend the next month simplifying my packaging down to a few standard sizes and materials so that if I want to add automation later, I actually can. For those who've made this shift, did you find that standardizing alone made a big difference even before adding machines, or is the real benefit only when you combine it with automation?
