In Arc Raiders, there is no built-in “Appear Offline” feature inside the game itself. Instead, your visibility is controlled by the platform you are playing on. This means your online status depends on Steam, Xbox, or PlayStation network settings rather than an in-game privacy toggle.

Because Arc Raiders uses Embark’s cross-play account system, changing your visibility on one platform will hide you from friends within that same network. However, players connected through cross-platform friends lists may still appear active in some cases, depending on how accounts are linked.

How to Appear Offline on PC (Steam)

If you are playing on PC through Steam, you can hide your online status using Steam’s built-in friend system.

Open the Steam client.

Click Friends in the top menu.

Select Invisible from the dropdown menu.

Alternatively, open your Friends List, click your profile name, and set your status to Invisible.

Once enabled, your account will appear offline to Steam friends while you continue playing normally.

How to Appear Offline on Xbox Series X|S

On Xbox, offline status is managed through your profile settings in the guide menu.

Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.

Go to Profile & system.

Select your profile picture at the top.

Open the Online status menu.

Choose Appear offline.

After this, your activity will no longer be visible to Xbox friends while you are in-game.

How to Appear Offline on PlayStation 5

On PlayStation 5, visibility settings are available directly from the home screen or control center.

Go to the PS5 Home Screen.

Select your profile picture in the top-right corner.

Open Online Status.

Choose Appear Offline.

Your profile will now show as offline to PlayStation Network friends.

Cross-Play Privacy Limitations

One important thing to understand is that Arc Raiders uses cross-play through Embark accounts. This means your visibility is not fully isolated to a single platform.

If cross-play remains enabled, friends on other systems may still see your activity through shared network features. To reduce visibility further, you can also go into the game settings and disable cross-play under Settings > Gameplay > Online.

This is the closest option available if your goal is to remain completely hidden while playing.

While there is no direct in-game offline mode, platform-level privacy settings give you full control over who can see your activity. Whether you are on Steam, Xbox, or PS5, switching your status to invisible or offline is the most effective way to play privately in Arc Raiders.
