Most Technics EAH-AZ100 review scores are extremely positive with sound quality being the star. They launched at CES 2025 at US$299 (259 / AU$499) and What Hi-Fi awarded the winner's trophy at the 2025 Awards. T3 awarded the trio its Platinum Award, praising it for improving on the AZ80 nearly across the board. Digital Trends went even further by concluding that the AZ100 has earned itself a spot among the best wireless earbuds around. They are powered by new magnetic fluid drivers, which reviewers describe as "big, immersive, and detailed". The earbuds also feature Dolby Atmos with head tracking, in-app equaliser, and Bluetooth LE support, meaning Auracast is on the cards when it arrives (if it ever does). TechRadar called them "sublime sounding" but noted they could sound better with the noise cancelling turned on. Every unbiased Technics EAH-AZ100 review points out the same negatives: TechRadar says the noise cancelling isn't as good as rivals and TechGearLab claims glitchy calls compromise the battery life and noise cancelling benefits. RTINGS rated them 5.8 for office use, so they are more suitable for music than phone calls. They also report that they are supplied with five sets of eartips, fewer than the seven of the AZ80. So who are they aimed at? If sound quality is your main criterion and you want a good quality pair of earbuds, you'll be very happy with them, mainly if you are already an AZ80 owner and want to know how much better they are. If you want a lot of calls or the best noise cancelling, then do compare these with some of their rivals from Sony and Bose. Prices change regularly, mostly during shopping events so check the latest price and buy from an approved retailer to maintain the warranty.
